Professor Iwaniec receiving the William Wasserstrom Prize 2001/2002 at the Colleges of Arts and Sciences for creative scholarship, devoted teaching and outstanding record of effective training of graduate students. This is the first time that a faculty member from the Mathematics Department has won this most prestigious prize.

Professor Iwaniec received a medal and the Prix 2001 L'Institut Henri-Poincare Gauthier-Villars (Paris, 2002), for the paper Quasiharmonic Fields, Ann. I.H. Poincare Analyse Nonlineaire (2001), 519-572.
